Where I LiveI have posted these photographs for those of you who have been too lame to come down and visit me at the beach. |
Front View of Our House - This is the nice little house where my roommate Doug and I live at Indian Rocks Beach. There is a furnished efficiency apartment on the side that usually has seasonal renters. A nice Canadian couple will be returning in January for the Winter months. |
The Kitchen - Our front door opens into a nice modern kitchen that has everything we need except a dishwasher. There are always dirty dishes in the sink, and empty aluminum cans on top of the refrigerator, which do not appear in this photograph. The utility room is out the front door on the right side of the breezeway. |
The View - What a view! Our house backs right up to the Intercoastal Waterway. It's very relaxing to just open up the blinds and look out onto the blue-green water. When the weather is nice, we like to open up the windows and let the cool air blow through. |
Our House Rear 3/4 View - The house is very low and flat, with tall pine trees for shade. Doug and I keep our decreped bicycles out back on the porch. |

Rear View of Our House from the Dock - We have a wooden dock that goes right out onto the water. It's nice to walk out there and sit. Sometimes I bring my laptop out there to work. Sometimes Emil and I bring our guitars out there and practice. Some of my friends even like to fish here. |
The Dock Behind Our House - Here you can see the beautiful landscaping maintained by our wonderful landlords. This is how it looks most of the time. |
Another View of the Dock - This view gives you a better view of our neighbors at Belleair Beach right across the inlet from us. There are some really nice, and really big houses over there. Sometimes I hear people talking at night across the water. If you're lucky, you may get to see a few dolphins or even a sting ray come to the surface. |
Our Dock at Dusk with a Full Moon - Here is a unique photograph I was able to take right after sunset with a full moon. Both the air and water were perfectly still allowing for the mirror reflection on the water. |
Still Water View - Here is another picture of our inlet showing some more of the docks and houses behind us. I wish that sailboat was mine... |
Moonlit Night - Nights like this are not uncommon throughout the year. One such night was the inspiration for a poem I wrote. |
Larent the Snowy Egret - This bird hangs around our house frequently enough to be familiar. I named him after a friend's rude French boyfriend. He's always looking for handouts, and will walk right up to you if you sit still long enough. |
Fishing - Sometimes my friends like to fish out here. Michelle and Jon actually caught two sea catfish the day this was taken, which was pretty amazing considering they had no idea what was out there. Laraunt makes a cameo appearance--he likes it when people fish. |
